About The Position

Rosewood Village Greenbrier is hiring a Part-Time Cook to join our Dining Services team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys preparing quality meals, working with a supportive team, and creating positive dining experiences. The position offers a consistent schedule with no late nights, providing a better work-life balance than traditional restaurants. Dining is a crucial part of a resident's day, and this role allows you to use your culinary skills in an environment where residents appreciate your contributions.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 18 years of age.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be flexible/adaptable, pay attention to detail, and have a sense of teamwork.
  • Must possess good time management skills and a keen awareness of safety.
  • Must possess current manager’s level food handler permit.
  • Must have positive Criminal Background Screening.
  • Adherence to the Company Drug Free Workplace policy.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of 3 years of cooking experience preferred.
  • Experience in senior living, assisted living, healthcare, or commercial kitchens preferred.
  • Some software and computer skills preferred.
  • Minimum one (1) year related cooking experience or equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare food of the highest quality and taste for residents and guests of the Community ensuring that the food presentation enhances the dining experience of the residents and guests.
  • Prepare delicious and attractive food that is colorful and tastefully presented making each meal service an exceptional occasion.
  • Supervise the kitchen under the direction of the Dining Services Director (DSD) and Chef/Lead Cook.
  • Prepare high quality meals consistent with local customs and tastes.
  • Consistently adhere to the standard recipes, the budgeted costs and Company policies.
  • Supervise and/or assist in the proper washing of all dishes, cookware, flatware, and utensils.
  • Properly maintain all kitchen equipment.
  • Monitor water temperatures and/or chemical compounds as appropriate to ensure the prevention of foodborne illness and the spread of communicable disease.
  • Approach residents and associates in a friendly, service-oriented manner.
  • Other job duties as assigned.
