About The Position

This role involves preparing a variety of food items using different cooking methods such as sautéing, broiling, frying, baking, and grilling. The cook will operate various kitchen equipment, including the grill, fryer, broiler, oven, and French top. Responsibilities include performing preliminary preparation work efficiently, ensuring accurate ingredient supply levels, restocking stations, and maintaining adequate food item levels. The position also requires maintaining a sanitary and organized work area, adhering to safety and health codes, and demonstrating proper care, storage, use, and cleaning of tools and equipment. Competent product knowledge, including correct storing and handling of perishables, is essential. The cook will prepare food according to standard recipes and specifications, respond positively to training, and communicate effectively with team members. Additional job-related duties may be assigned.

Requirements

  • Understanding of proper safety and health codes and regulations.
  • Demonstrates proper care, storage, use and cleaning of all tools and equipment.
  • Demonstrates competent product knowledge by correct storing and handling of all perishables, maintaining quality, security, value and integrity.
  • Prepares food products according to standard recipes and specifications.
  • Demonstrates positive responses to training by chefs.
  • Effectively communicates with other team members, including service and kitchen maintenance personnel.
