About The Position

The Cook is responsible for safely preparing food items, following menu specifications and standard recipes. This role actively participates with staff to cook, prepare, dish-up, and assemble all menu items, while adhering to control procedures for food costs and quality. The Cook is also responsible for cleaning kitchen work areas and equipment, and for abiding by all health codes and hand washing guidelines.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED equivalence.
• Ability to work in fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work both front and back line positions.
• Ability to obtain a valid Racing License.
• Must be able to complete any classes or certifications required.
• Frequently required to sit or stand; walk; use hands to finger reach, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear.
• May be required to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to fifty pounds.

Nice To Haves

• One-year minimum experience in food preparation and food knowledge is preferred.
• Abilities demonstrated in handling banquets and food outlet effectiveness.
• Be in constant communication with BOH Team Members.
• Maintaining interpersonal working relationship among all personnel.
• Excellent Oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate kitchen equipment including slicer, steamer, deep fryer, ovens, broiler, grill, mixer, kettle, and griddles.
• Read and use math skills for recipes and measurements.
• Read, write, speak, and understand recipes and communicate with other Team Members.
• Clean kitchen work areas and equipment, and sweep and mop floors.
• Cook, prepare, dish-up, and assemble all menu items.
• Adhere to control procedures for food costs and quality.
• Abide by all health codes and hand washing guidelines.
• Prepare all food items according to standard recipes and menu to ensure consistency of product to the guest.
