About The Position

As a Cook at Guiding Hands, you’ll help prepare meals for our little ones. As a support staff, you will tend to children's needs as they arise. You will cover teacher's classes as the teacher has not arrived for the day, has left for the day or is on lunch break. Guiding Hands Christian Academy and Childcare provides a safe and compassionate environment while parents meet their financial responsibilities. They show and teach God's love for all and teach social and emotional skills to all children to aid them in self-regulation. At Guiding Hands Christian Academy and Childcare, it is important that each person that enters our doors are shown God's love. They teach about God, our creator, as well as social/emotional skills and age appropriate development. The two curriculums that they teach from are "Faith Stories" and "Frog Street" with Conscious Discipline. They run their program under the following values: Family, Fun, Integrity, Compassion and Learning. They hope to have you join their team.

Requirements

Previous experience in a preschool environment
Energetic, nurturing, positive, child-friendly personality
Shows initiative; strong work ethic
High school diploma

Responsibilities

Prepare delicious, healthy menu items and deliver to classroom-based on snack and lunch schedule
Maintains a clean, safe, and sanitary environment per procedure and childcare licensing requirements
Maintains the inventory of food items and prepares grocery list for ordering
Works with the teacher and leadership teams by communicating and contributing information on a continuous basis
Maintains positive informal and formal communication with families on a daily basis
Facilitates and maintains childcare licensing standards
