About The Position

As a Cook Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing food production, ensuring quality and safety standards are met, managing inventory, and supervising kitchen staff at the Lethbridge Correction Center.

Responsibilities

  • Plan required quantities of ingredients for assigned food production area
  • Save a sample meal for the health inspector
  • Maintains and completes required Quality Assurance records
  • Assist with inventory control including conducting weekly inventory, proper product rotation, and food orders to meet inventory requirements from authorized suppliers
  • Ensure that meal service carts are loaded properly and on schedule
  • Supervision of unloading of carts and trolleys and completes cleaning duties as required
  • Assist in unpacking and restocking of supplies
  • Maintain all kitchen areas in a clean and orderly condition
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area adhering to food safety and health standards
  • Prioritize and delegate tasks in kitchen layout and prep
  • Ensure all products and ingredients required are delivered in a timely manner for prompt delivery to kitchens and clientele
  • Ensure food ingredients are stored in their designated area and rotated in the proper manner
  • Assist in maintaining accurate daily production records and completing all required documentation, reports, and logs as assigned
  • Assist with training employees: plan, assign and direct work; appraise performance; reward and discipline associates; address complaints and resolve problems
