Summary: Assists Cooks in preparation of food for residents/patients, staff and visitors according to daily production sheets. Reports To: Director of Dining Services, Assistant Director of Dining Services, Managers, Executive Chef, Sous Chef Cook's Helper Hours/Shift:24 hours part-time 9:00am -5pm M-F and every other weekend Essential Responsibilities: 1.Maintain high standard of sanitation in food handling and work area per Dining Service sanitation matrix. 2.Assist in preparation of food according to daily production sheets. 2.Relieve Cooks as necessary. 3.Follow MSD standardized recipes to assure accurate and uniform products. 4.Work tray line during meals if necessary. 5.Report any damaged equipment, substandard or spoiled foodstuffs to Dining Services Supervisor or Chef. 6.Other related duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Qualifications: Education: High School Diploma or GED preferred Experience: 1 year experience with the Food Service industry or a combination of experience and 1-year culinary training Licensure: N/A Knowledge/Skills/Abilities: Ability to handle multiple demands and deadlines; Ability to communicate; Ability to utilize various culinary machines to carryout position responsibilities.
