About The Position

As a Pastry Cook, you will play an essential role in delivering exceptional culinary experiences by preparing, presenting, and serving high-quality desserts that delight our guests. More than creating memorable sweets, you will help bring the MGM Resorts brand to life through outstanding hospitality, attention to detail, and personalized service.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years of age
• 2+ years of pastry experience in a professional pastry department, with a strong understanding of pastry production, baking techniques, and dessert preparation
• Able to multi-task effectively while maintaining quality, consistency, and attention to detail in a fast-paced kitchen
• Must be available to work an on-call schedule, with flexibility to accept shifts based on business needs

Responsibilities

• Follow the methods of food preparation, baking method and techniques to properly prepare and serve desserts as instructed by the Chef
• Set-up and operate the workstation based on pars established by the Chef and follow station set-up organization
• Ensure food is stored and kept at proper holding temperatures through the use and reading of thermometers
• List the preparations that should be completed for each day the night before
• Monitor consistency of quality, presentation and flavor of each dish
• Assemble recipes without assistance
• Communicate problems to the Sous Chef
• Monitor and maintain cleanliness of the work area, utensils and equipment
