About The Position

This position is responsible for assisting in the operations of MWR Food and Beverage businesses, creating an attractive and friendly environment, and maintaining product quality, cleanliness, and inventory while adhering to safety regulations and standards. The role involves frontend duties such as welcoming customers, maintaining product knowledge, assisting with selections, operating the Point of Sale register, and preparing/serving made-to-order beverages, snacks, and easily assembled food items. Responsibilities also include setting up food service counters, preparing pizzas and daily lunch specials, slicing meats, preparing sandwiches and wraps, washing and preparing vegetables, preparing ice cream-based items, and using an espresso machine for specialty coffees. The role requires proper cleaning of kitchen equipment, performing simple preventative maintenance related to cleaning, and maintaining a clean customer service and dining area. It also involves washing dishes, pots, pans, and coffee urns, operating a mechanical dishwasher, and following store policies for operational flow, merchandising, stocking, rotating, and storing products, while maintaining awareness of inventory waste or shrink. Periodic stock counts and inventory participation may be required. Additional duties include maintaining strict food safety and sanitation standards, sweeping and mopping floors, disposing of food waste and trash, and assisting with unloading and storing supplies. Employees are expected to complete work independently after initial instructions and must be available to work evenings and weekends, possessing excellent customer service skills.

Requirements

  • One year work experience in food service facility.
  • Possess math skills necessary to calculate patron bills and take inventory.
  • Possess basic food preparation and handling techniques.
  • Possess knowledge of basic sanitation principles in handling and serving food.
  • Possess the capability to lift and move objects up to 40 pounds and frequently walk, bend, stoop, pull, push and reach.
  • Must have the ability to read and understand written material, follow instructions.
  • Must be able to obtain a Food Handlers Certificate and/or complete Food Handler’s Training within 30 days of appointment.
  • Customer service experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Two years or more experience in food service or related industry.

Responsibilities

  • Set up food service counters and side service stands with hot and cold food and beverages including desserts and condiments.
  • Assist with preparation of pizzas and daily lunch specials using a hot grill.
  • Slice cooked meats and prepared sandwiches and wraps.
  • Wash, peel, slice, seed, vegetables for salads and other dishes.
  • Prepare malts, ice cream sundaes and scoop ice cream.
  • Use an espresso machine to make specialty coffees/drinks.
  • Properly clean all kitchen equipment.
  • Perform simple preventative maintenance associated with equipment cleaning.
  • Maintain customer service and dining area in a clean and appealing manner.
  • Wash dishes, pots, pans, coffee urn.
  • Operate mechanical dishwasher.
  • Follow store policies and procedures for operational flow.
  • Adhere to established standards for merchandising, stocking, rotating and storing all products.
  • Maintain awareness pertaining to inventory waste or shrink.
  • May be required to take periodic stock counts and/or participate in taking of inventories.
