About The Position

Spring Arbor Richmond is hiring a Full-Time Cook / Line Cook to join our Dining Services team in our senior living community. This role is ideal for candidates with experience in restaurants and hospitality, healthcare dining services, assisted living or senior living kitchens, prep cook or line cook positions, hotels, catering, or food service environments. The primary responsibility of the Cook is to prepare food of the highest quality and taste for residents and guests of the Community, ensuring that the food presentation enhances the dining experience. The Cook will prepare delicious and attractive food that is colorful and tastefully presented, making each meal service an exceptional occasion. They will supervise the kitchen under the direction of the Dining Services Director (DSD) and Chef/Lead Cook, prepare high-quality meals consistent with local customs and tastes, and consistently adhere to standard recipes, budgeted costs, and Company policies. The role also involves supervising and/or assisting in the proper washing of all dishes, cookware, flatware, and utensils, properly maintaining all kitchen equipment, and monitoring water temperatures and/or chemical compounds to ensure the prevention of foodborne illness and the spread of communicable disease. Associates are expected to approach residents and associates in a friendly, service-oriented manner. Other job duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must be a minimum of 18 years of age.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be flexible/adaptable, pay attention to detail, and have a sense of teamwork.
  • Must possess good time management skills and a keen awareness of safety.
  • Must possess current manager’s level food handler permit.
  • Must have positive Criminal Background Screening.
  • Associates are subject to adherence to the Company Drug Free Workplace policy.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous cooking or kitchen experience preferred.
  • Minimum one (1) year related cooking experience or equivalent preferred.
  • Some software and computer skills preferred.
