About The Position
Work with a purpose! Management & Training Corporation (MTC) operates the Otero County Processing Center in Chaparral, New Mexico. We provide a safe and secure working environment for our staff while helping non-citizens gain valuable skills and treatment necessary for success upon release.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Valid food handler’s permit from the state of New Mexico required.
- Valid driver’s license in the state of New Mexico or the state of Texas with an acceptable driving record required, unless waived by management.
Nice To Haves
- Food service training, one (1) year of food service or related experience and prior supervisory experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook quantity of food required according to menu and number of detainees.
- Maintain kitchen equipment in orderly working condition; ensure work area is safe, clean, and sanitary at all times.
- Prepare food as directed for special facility functions, visitors, and special diets.
- Assist in cleaning kitchen work areas following each meal.
- Assist in the supervision of detainees assigned to assist in the cafeteria.
