About The Position

The Cook II position is at a fully competent level, responsible for independently preparing a variety of entrees and principal meal items. This role may involve managing a cooking station in a larger kitchen with multiple stations serving many meals, or serving as the cook in a smaller kitchen, potentially supervising kitchen and cook helpers. The position also includes performing other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Legal Authorization to Work in the US
  • Two (2) years of progressively responsible experience which demonstrated knowledge and skill to perform general quantity cooking duties
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to independently prepare various types of foods using various cooking methods (e.g., cooking meats, fish and poultry by various processes, such as roasting, baking, broiling and/or frying)
  • Experience in the daily preparation of meals in a restaurant, hospital, school, correctional facility or other large institution
  • Willing and able to work rotating shifts, including evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Subject to drug screening
  • Subject to an intensive background check
  • Must not have engaged in sexual abuse in a prison, jail, lockup, community confinement facility, juvenile facility or other institution
  • Must not have been convicted of engaging or attempting to engage in sexual activity in the community facilitated by force, overt or implied threats of force, or coercion, or if the victim did not consent or was unable to consent or refuse
  • Must not have been civilly or administratively adjudicated to have engaged in the activity described above
  • Must not have been the subject of substantiated allegations of sexual abuse or sexual harassment or resigned during a pending investigation of alleged sexual abuse or sexual harassment

  • Some positions require a valid driver's license at the time of appointment.
