About The Position

Columbia Hospitality is seeking a Cook II to join the team at Salish Lodge & Spa. This role is responsible for preparing food items according to specification sheets, ensuring quality and presentation standards are met, and maintaining a clean and organized work environment. The Cook II will work with other line cooks to monitor food quality and consistency, handle customer requests, and conduct product inventories. This position is crucial in upholding the company's commitment to Creating Exceptional Experiences.

Requirements

Previous cooking experience required
Necessary State Food Handler’s License(s)
Ability to read and comprehend simple instruction, short correspondence, and memos
Ability to effectively present information one-on-one and small group situations to other employees
Must possess knife skills and the ability to adjust preparations for flavor
Native American/Alaskan Native preference applies under applicable TERO requirements

Responsibilities

Utilize specification sheets to prepare daily preparation requirements, maintain par levels of necessary items
Prepare new menu items under the direction of a supervisor
Ensure attractive and consistent presentation of food items, both buffet and plated
Interact with other line cooks to monitor quality, presentation and consistency of food items prepared
Handle all needs and accommodate customer requests in a timely manner
Set up, restock, maintain and clean food prep areas
Responsible to ensure presentation standards are met for all hot and cold items
Read and interpret recipes
Conduct product inventories, order and receive product under direction of a supervisor
Responsible for team maintenance of grooming standards
Responsible for team adherence to standards for sanitation and safe food handling
Responsible for all opening and closing kitchen procedures
