About The Position

Step behind the scenes at MGM Grand Detroit and bring unforgettable events to life as a Banquet Cook II. In this role, you’ll prepare and execute high-quality dishes for everything from elegant galas to large-scale celebrations, all within a fast-paced, high-energy banquet kitchen. You’ll showcase your culinary skills with precision and consistency, ensuring every plate meets exceptional standards while keeping service running seamlessly. Working alongside a talented culinary team, you’ll help create memorable dining experiences for guests on their biggest occasions. Requirements

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
  • Two years of prior relevant experience in a similar resort setting preferred
  • One year prior relevant cooking experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Maintain solid knowledge of food products and skillfully apply culinary techniques
  • Identify and safely use kitchen equipment
  • Restock kitchen supplies and food items required for service
  • Properly label and date products to ensure safekeeping and sanitation
  • Maintain solid menu knowledge and attention to detail with plate presentation
  • Assist kitchen leadership and staff in execution of service
  • Maintain solid knowledge, understanding and preparation of base sauces, stocks and soups
