About The Position

The Joseph "Eddie" Ballard Western Kentucky Veterans Center is a 156-bed long term care facility located in beautiful Hanson, Kentucky that is committed to serving Kentucky’s Veterans by fostering independence, preserving dignity and providing compassionate care. We are currently seeking Cook’s to care for our Veterans. Join our team if you want to give back to those who have given so much for our Country. Performs general cooking duties
Mixes and cooks specialty dishes and delicate foods
Maintains records of food used and supply on hand
Maintains dietary work areas, equipment and utensils in a clean and sanitary condition
Insures proper storage of food
This position offers 15% on top of base pay for all hours worked on second and third shifts and 25% on top of base pay for all hours worked on a holiday or weekend.

This position, in Hopkins county has an approved Locality Premium of $4.88 in compliance with 101 KAR 2:034 Section 9(1)

Requirements

• One year of cooking experience in an institutional or large scale commercial setting.
• Vocational training in food service will substitute for the experience on a year-for-year basis.
