About The Position

Cook I (Prep Cook) – Independent Living Dallas Retirement Village | Dallas, OR We're looking for dependable, team-oriented individuals who enjoy working in a kitchen environment and take pride in preparing quality food. At Dallas Retirement Village, our Cook I team members help create enjoyable dining experiences for residents by preparing ingredients, assisting with meal production, and supporting the daily operations of the kitchen. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys staying busy, working as part of a team, and learning valuable culinary and food service skills. Whether you're beginning your culinary career or looking to build upon existing food service experience, this is a great opportunity.

Requirements

Ability to follow recipes, instructions, and portion guidelines.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced team environment.
Commitment to food safety and sanitation standards.
Ability to perform basic math, measurements, and recipe conversions.
Food Handler's Card or ability to obtain upon hire.
Ability to complete HACCP training.
Must be at least 18 years old.
Dependable, positive, and willing to learn.

Nice To Haves

Previous food service experience preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities
