About The Position

As a cook for Silver Dollar City, you may perform a wide range of duties including, but not limited to, cooking to order, plating entrées, ensuring kitchen cleanliness, preparing and cooking for our restaurants. Our cooks must be comfortable working in small areas and demonstrate a friendly, caring attitude. This is a Full-Time Seasonal position from now until 1/2/27. Must be at least 16 years of age.

Requirements

• Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
• Able to understand and correctly apply weights and measures to recipes
• Able to operate ovens, fryers, grills, smokers and cryovacs
• Must be able to complete an in-house ServSafe food training class
• Must be at least 16 years of age.

Nice To Haves

• Experience working with high volume food preferred.

Responsibilities

• Read menu to estimate food requirements and order food from supplier or procure food from storage.
• Adjust thermostat controls to regulate temperature of ovens, broilers, grills, roasters, and steam kettles.
• Measure and mix ingredients according to recipe to prepare salads, sauces and desserts.
• Bake, roast, broil, and steam meats, vegetables and other foods.
• Add seasoning to foods during mixing or cooking.
• Observe and test foods being cooked to order or in batch cooking.
• Portion food on serving plates, add gravies and sauces, and garnish servings to fill orders.
