About The Position

Bethany of the Northwest is seeking a Cook and Dietary Aide for its Silver Crest assisted living facility in Everett, Washington. The role prepares nutritious meals in large quantities for residents and provides dietary aide support. The schedule is 32 hours per week: cooking Friday and Saturday from 11:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m., and dietary aide support Tuesday and Wednesday from 6:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. The pay rate is $21–$22 per hour, depending on experience. Requirements

Experience preparing nutritious meals in large quantities.
Current Washington State Food Handler’s permit.
Ability to cook a variety of foods in large quantities.
High school diploma; GED is desirable.
Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant.
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
Ability to function independently and demonstrate flexibility and personal integrity.
Ability to work effectively with residents, personnel, and support agencies.
Patience, tact, a cheerful disposition, and enthusiasm, and willingness to incorporate these qualities into existing practices.
Ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret the Dietary Department’s programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures.
Excellent communication skills.

Responsibilities

Review menus before preparing food.
Coordinate Dietary Services with other departments as necessary.
Ensure dietary procedures are followed in accordance with established policies.
Assist with placing orders, taking inventory, and related duties.
Assist in developing methods to determine the quality and quantity of food served.
Report accidents and incidents according to established policy.
