This is a full-time, permanent position for a Cook (Commis 1) at the award-winning Four Seasons Resort and Residences Whistler. The role involves preparing and executing menu items, setting up food stations, and ensuring a clean and organized work area. Requirements

  • 2+ years of culinary experience.
  • Passion for food.
  • Excellent knife skill and cleanliness.
  • Strong command of the English language.
  • Excellent commitment to service and teamwork.
  • Ability to obtain a clean criminal record check.
  • Flexibility in working mornings, evenings, weekends, overnights and holidays.
  • Great attention to detail and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Culinary education is strongly preferred but several years of commercial cooking experience may substitute.

Responsibilities

  • Prepping and execution of the morning or afternoon menu items including In Room Dining.
  • Setting up food stations by obtaining all equipment and materials needed.
  • Preparing food stations for service, including organizing and managing banquets and buffets.
  • Cleaning and inspecting kitchens and food service areas and ensuring a neat, clean, and organized work area throughout and following service.
  • Preparing and plating all items received from the computer system in a timely and accurate manner.
  • May specialize in Pastry cooking.
  • Preparing dishes for guests with allergies or food intolerances.
  • Communicating with cooks regarding timing.
  • Maintaining records and ordering food, supplies and kitchen equipment as required.
  • Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods.
  • Prepare and cook special meals for patients as instructed by dietitian or chef.
  • Schedule and supervise kitchen helpers.
  • Oversee kitchen operations.
  • Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment.
  • May set up and oversee buffets.
  • May clean kitchen and work area.
  • May plan menus, determine size of food portions, estimate food requirements and costs, and monitor and order supplies.
  • May hire and train kitchen staff.
