About The Position

This position is for a Cook specializing in Banquet and In-Room Dining. The role involves maintaining a clean and safe work environment, ensuring regular and reliable attendance, and adhering to uniform policies, including wearing a gaming license if applicable. A key responsibility is the efficient and consistent preparation of all menu items and specials, with a strong focus on quality, presentation, taste, and other details, even when preparing large orders to ensure timely service and quality preservation. The cook must be able to make effective adjustments to enhance the overall dining experience for customers. Maintaining a clean and well-organized kitchen, including sweeping and mopping floors, is required at the end of each shift. The role also involves developing and maintaining positive relations with guests and employees, accurately answering questions about the restaurant, menu, and resort operations. The cook will receive ongoing training, technical direction, and guidance from the Lead Cook, Floor Supervisor, and Restaurant Manager. All duties must be performed in compliance with safety standards, health standards, internal policies and procedures, and the Colorado Limited Gaming Act. The cook is expected to maintain alertness for all responsibilities, be generally aware of restaurant operations, and keep their supervisor informed of any concerns regarding food quality, selection, and variety. Other duties and special projects may be assigned as needed.

Requirements

  • Demonstrated cooking experience, preferably within a hospitality, restaurant, or gaming environment.
  • Demonstrated experience performing within specific deadlines or under pressure.
  • Demonstrated experience problem solving, organizing, and prioritizing work.
  • Graduation from high school or equivalent in education and experience.
  • Two (2) or more years of recent and related cooking experience, preferably within a hospitality, restaurant, or gaming environment.

Responsibilities

  • Maintains a clean and safe work environment. Performs duties in compliance with safety procedures.
  • Regular and reliable attendance is a fundamental requirement of this position. Employees are expected to be punctual and consistently present during their scheduled work hours to ensure the effective and efficient operation of the business.
  • Maintains and wears all uniforms including nametag. Must wear a gaming license if in possession of one.
  • Ability to efficiently and consistently prepare all menu items and special with great attention to quality, presentation, taste, and other details. This includes the ability to prepare large orders in a manner that preserves the quality of each plate and ensures the overall order is complete and served in a timely manner.
  • Ability to effectively make adjustments to provide the best overall dining experience to all customers.
  • Maintains a clean and well organized kitchen at all times. Sweeps and mops floors. Ensures all cleaning is thorough and complete at the end of each shift as directed.
  • Develops, maintains, and enhances positive relations with all guests and employees.
  • Answers questions about the restaurant, the menu, and resort operations completely and accurately.
