About The Position

Prepares meals for patients, staff, visitors and special functions. Responsible for sanitation of kitchen area and equipment.

Requirements

  • Food Handlers Card
  • Ability to lift, push and pull 50 lbs
  • Ability to effectively work in a noisy setting and under deadline pressures.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
  • May encounter temperature variations.
  • Work are may be hot, cold, and/or wet.
  • Demonstrates basic cooking skills.
  • Demonstrates time management skills.
  • Ability to perform basic record keeping.
  • Ability to understand written and oral communication.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.

Nice To Haves

  • High school diploma or equivalent

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for preparation and presentation of foods for patients, visitors, and employees.
  • Responsible for cleaning and proper use of equipment.
  • Assists in preparing, delivering, and retrieving special functions and coffee requests.
  • Attends all required safety training programs and can describe responsibilities related to general safety, department/service safety, and specific job-related hazards.
  • Coordinates standards of quality food handling with proper sanitation standards.
  • Communicates with patients and clinical staff in a professional manner.
  • Prepares meals, distributes trays to patients, collects and cleans meal trays.
