About The Position
The Cook 2 prepares and cooks high-quality food in accordance with standardized recipes, food safety requirements, and Levy standards. This role requires prior cooking experience, strong attention to sanitation and safety, effective communication, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, flexible environment.
Requirements
- Minimum one year of experience as a cook or prep cook.
- High school diploma or GED, or a minimum of three months of related experience.
- Ability to successfully complete a written and practical test to demonstrate required skill level.
- Ability to communicate in English.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Manual dexterity and ability to see at close range, distance, and distinguish color.
- Ability to speak and hear clearly.
- Ability to work a flexible schedule.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook food according to standardized recipes, prep sheets, established quality standards, and guest requests.
- Demonstrate proficiency in basic food preparation and cooking techniques, including salads, sandwiches, pizzas, fried items, cookies, and buffet platters.
- Review and follow daily prep sheets, event orders, and special requests.
- Maintain proper portion control and consistent food quality.
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, storage, labeling, dating, heating, and cooling requirements.
- Maintain clean and sanitary coolers, freezers, work areas, and equipment.
- Safely operate kitchen equipment and promptly report equipment failures or safety hazards.
- Provide a positive guest and Team Member experience through professional, helpful, and courteous service.
- Communicate effectively with culinary leadership and Team Members regarding operational and guest needs.
- Maintain a professional appearance, proper uniform, and positive attitude.
- Follow all Levy policies, procedures, and Team Member standards.
- Attend required orientations, meetings, and training sessions.
- Remain flexible and respond appropriately to changing operational needs or service interruptions.
- Perform other duties as assigned by culinary or Levy management.
