About The Position

Marriott Syracuse Downtown is seeking a Cook 1 for its fine dining 11 Waters restaurant. The Cook 1 leads kitchen work while assisting the Sous Chef and/or Executive Sous Chef with food preparation, cooking, and support of the kitchen staff. The role involves preparing menu items to established recipes, quality and presentation standards, and serving orders consistently and on time. Associates are expected to maintain professional conduct, support coworkers, adapt to changes, and represent the hotel through guest-focused service.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, select, and use high-quality food items when preparing menu items.
• Ensure made-to-order food is prepared and served to customers and guests in a timely and consistent manner.
• Prepare food according to recipe cards, production and portion standards, and server tickets.
• Cook food according to recipes, quality standards, presentation standards, and food preparation checklists.
• Date food containers and rotate stored food.
• Follow attendance rules and be available to work regularly.
• Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
• Assist the Sous Chef and/or Executive Sous Chef with kitchen preparation, cooking, and support of kitchen staff.
