About The Position

This position is for a Cook 1 on the 1st Shift FLEX. The Cook 1 will assist in preparing and serving menu items according to recipes, ensuring consistent quality to exceed guest expectations. The role requires maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work environment, adhering to hygiene and sanitation standards. The Cook 1 will demonstrate versatility by working in various kitchen stations, completing opening and closing duties, and assigned side work. This role also involves volunteering to support team members, learning to operate and maintain kitchen equipment safely, and fostering positive relationships with guests and colleagues. The Cook 1 will perform tasks efficiently and effectively, clean coolers, freezers, and storage areas, and assist with inventory management and rotation (FIFO). Familiarity with facility layout and guest services is expected, along with aligning with the organization's goals and vision, and contributing to team success. Participation in scheduled training sessions and evaluations is required, as is flexibility to work at different venues as needed. Adherence to workplace policies and regulations, including those related to gaming and safety, is mandatory. Other duties as assigned may be part of the role. Requirements

  • For full-time applicants aged 18 to 19, HSD or GED is required, or proof of current enrollment in an educational program.
  • For applicants aged 16 to 17, enrollment proof in an educational program is necessary for flex employment.
  • Basic knowledge of kitchen equipment, cooking methods, and food safety.
  • Competent knife skills and culinary knowledge.
  • Familiarity with food products and preparation techniques.
  • Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Commitment to teamwork and positive guest interactions.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with minimal supervision.
  • Compliance with pre-employment screenings and health standards.
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality.
  • Willingness to wear the designated uniform and work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Minimum age requirement of 16 years.

Nice To Haves

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Preferably, one year of culinary experience and Serve Safe Food Handlers certification within three months.
