About The Position

Jackson Concrete Pumping LLC, a leading provider of concrete placement services, is seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Conveyor Operator/Driver to join our team in Jackson, MI. This role involves operating and driving conveyor equipment to deliver concrete and other materials efficiently and safely to construction sites, ensuring high-quality service and adherence to company standards.

Requirements

  • Valid Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) Class A or B with a clean driving record and a current DOT medical card.
  • Minimum of 2 years of driving or equipment operation experience preferred.
  • Construction experience is a plus.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Ability to troubleshoot minor equipment issues.
  • Familiarity with concrete pumping or conveyor operations.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills to work effectively with team members and clients.
  • Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
  • Ability to handle 2” to 5” hoses.
  • Ability to access elevated pour locations.
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions.
  • Normal vision, hearing, and manual dexterity required.
  • Willingness to work irregular hours, including early mornings, weekends, and overtime.
  • Potential travel up to 250 miles per day.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate conveyor belts and related equipment to transfer concrete from ready-mix trucks to designated placement areas, ensuring precise and efficient delivery.
  • Drive conveyor truck to and from job sites, adhering to all traffic laws and company policies.
  • Conduct thorough inspections of the conveyor truck before and after each trip, checking fluid levels, tire pressure, brakes, and other critical systems to ensure compliance with DOT regulations.
  • Set up conveyor systems at job sites in a safe and stable position, perform operator-level maintenance, and clean equipment to prevent concrete buildup and maintain operational condition.
  • Collaborate with site supervisors, ready-mix drivers, and crew members to coordinate concrete placement, ensuring customer satisfaction and meeting project timelines.
  • Adhere to strict safety protocols, including proper outrigger placement, priming procedures, and environmentally responsible cleanup, while reporting any unsafe conditions or incidents to management immediately.
  • Complete required documentation, including inspection forms, job tickets, and maintenance logs, and keep dispatch informed of project status and daily start times.
