About The Position

HireQuest is seeking a dependable Conveyor Belt Sorting Supervisor for a materials processing location in North Portland, Oregon. The supervisor leads a team of sorters along a conveyor line, keeping production on track, maintaining crew safety, and ensuring materials are properly separated and processed. The role calls for a strong work ethic, leadership skills, a safety-first mindset, and comfort working on one's feet and communicating with team members. English/Spanish bilingual ability is preferred.

Requirements

Fluent in English and Spanish; speaking ability is preferred, and reading and writing ability is a plus.
Ability to stand for the entire shift and perform repetitive motion.
Ability to lift materials as needed; weight varies by site.
Punctuality, reliability, and consistent attendance.
Must be at least 18 years old.
Strong communication skills and ability to lead a diverse team.
Ability to follow and give verbal instructions and safety procedures.

Nice To Haves

Previous supervisory or lead experience is preferred, particularly in industrial, warehouse, recycling, or manufacturing settings.
English/Spanish bilingual ability is preferred.

Responsibilities

Supervise and direct a crew of conveyor line sorters.
Communicate instructions, safety procedures, and expectations.
Train new team members on sorting standards, procedures, and safety rules.
Monitor the line to ensure incorrect or non-conforming items are identified and removed.
Assign workers to stations and rotate positions as needed.
Track attendance and report call-outs, issues, and production concerns to management.
Enforce company safety rules and ensure all team members wear required PPE.
Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of hazards.
Step in and sort on the line when needed.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.
