About The Position

This role involves participating in the financial closes for assigned Recycling business facilities by leading and executing centralized close activities. The analyst will facilitate the monthly closing, review, reconciliation, and reporting processes, ensuring compliance with GAAP and accounting policies. The position requires acting as a business partner to Recycling facilities and Finance Leadership, providing analytical support, and participating in financial audits and balance sheet reviews. Responsibilities also include completing reporting requirements for various entities, ensuring internal controls are followed, leveraging business knowledge for reliable financial processes, and collaborating on department projects and process enhancements. The role requires limited supervision, accountability for outsourced activities, and developing into a subject matter expert for training and improving work product deliverables.

Requirements

  • BS or MS degree in Accounting, Finance or Business required
  • 2-4 years of relatable experience
  • Strong understanding of financial accounting and GAAP
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Good oral and written communication skills

  • Facility or plant experience a plus
  • Proficient in SAP a plus
  • Background or interest in Data Analytics, Analysis for Office, or Power BI a plus

Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute a portfolio of centralized close activities for Recycling business financial closes at assigned facility level.
  • Facilitate the end-to-end monthly closing, review, reconciliation, and reporting processes.
  • Ensure monthly transactions are recorded in compliance with GAAP and established accounting policies/conventions.
  • Act as a business partner with Recycling facilities and business Finance Leadership, providing analytical support.
  • Participate and work with internal/external financial audits and balance sheet reviews.
  • Take ownership of resolution of assigned action items.
  • Complete various reporting requirements for governmental entities, trade associations, and internal organizations.
  • Ensure applicable internal controls are followed in each area of responsibility.
  • Leverage business/manufacturing knowledge to establish reliable financial processes.
  • Collaboratively work with fellow Converting Financial Analysts on department project teams.
  • Participate in driving process enhancements with centralized processes and/or financial tools.
  • Perform work assignments with limited supervision.
  • Be accountable for various outsourced activities and processes as directed.
  • Develop into a subject matter expert on key department process teams to assist in leading training and identify ways to heighten work product deliverables.
