We are looking for Converting Assistant for our plant. The candidate must meet production requirements. They must demonstrate versatility, initiative and be a strong team player.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Basic understanding of personal computers
  • Able to work rotating shifts as per the description below
  • Have a demonstrated commitment to working safely
  • Positive team player and excellent work ethic
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Ability to adapt to changes
  • Rotating shifts, 40 hours a week, must be available days, afternoons and nights.

Nice To Haves

  • Counterbalance Forklift certification (an asset)
  • Flexo Printing, Die cutting experience (an asset)
  • Familiarity in the corrugated box fabrication (an asset)

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the safe and efficient operation of converting production machinery (Die Cutting and Flexo Presses)
  • Working safety in accordance with Company safety policies and procedures and OHS legislation; wear prescribed PPE and report all hazards to supervision
  • Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) and work instructions from the Operator in order to set up and run equipment safely and efficiently
  • Perform routine quality checks according to customer specifications and identify/report any non-conformances
  • Verify product quality through visual inspection and measurement as per customer specifications on production copy
  • Stacking and piling of finished units and affixing load tags
  • Monitoring supply of bottom sheets and other materials to ensure they are readily available
  • Maintain good housekeeping practices and following food safety protocols and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP)
  • Back up for the position is Unitizer
  • Follow Company rules and regulations
  • Other duties as assigned
