As a Controls Technical Specialist I, you will independently and collaboratively support control systems for daily manufacturing operations and troubleshoot electrical and controls-related issues. You’ll provide instrumentation, PLC, and HMI/SCADA software and hardware support to plant maintenance staff, engage in control system software and electrical upgrades, and assist with capital project implementations.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma / GED equivalent and 3+ years’ applicable experience in PLC software and hardware troubleshooting and/or HMI-systems in controls, automation, electrical, or industrial maintenance environments
  • Associate’s Degree in a technical discipline and 1+ years’ applicable experience in PLC software and hardware troubleshooting and/or HMI-systems in controls, automation, electrical, or industrial maintenance environments

Responsibilities

  • Learn and maintain a working knowledge of Corporate Control System Standards and Guidelines
  • Understand the design, programming, and troubleshooting of process instruments, PLCs, and HMIs
  • Possess working knowledge of the tools and test equipment used for testing, diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining production electrical equipment, instrumentation, and controls
  • Maintain electrical drawings and participate in continuing education
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Know and utilize safe work practices for all voltages up to 480VAC and 600VDC
