BAS - Controls Programmer
About The Position
We are seeking a skilled Controls Specialist to join our team in Townson, MD. This role involves programming, commissioning, and troubleshooting Building Automation Systems (BAS) for a variety of clients including Commercial, Multifamily, Restaurants, Assisted Living, Nursing Homes, Churches, and Educational institutions. The work encompasses new construction, retrofits, and service projects within HVAC, Building Automation, Energy Management Systems/ATC, Plumbing, and Electrical services. Our company has been established for over 50 years and offers a dynamic work environment.
Requirements
- Prior experience as a Controls Specialist/Programmer or similar position
- Familiar with BAS communication protocols, specifically BACnet, LON, or LonBus
- Strong troubleshooting skills
- Understanding of creating graphics
- Acute knowledge of HVAC systems and their integration within controls
Responsibilities
- Program custom applications from scratch or prepackaged libraries
- Communicate effectively with technicians and PMs in the field
- Create controls databases from scratch
- Manage programs from start to finish and ensure they cover all requirements
- Responsible for startups and commissioning on BAS Systems
- Troubleshoot issues within systems
