About The Position

Under the supervision of the University Hospitals Trust (UHT), the Building Automation Systems (BAS) Controls Engineer/Programmer designs, programs, installs, and commissions HVAC and facility management software. They specialize in creating sequences of operations, integrating protocols like BACnet/Modbus, and optimizing system performance for energy efficiency in commercial buildings.

Requirements

  • Proficient in industry platforms such as Tridium Niagara (N4), Johnson Controls, Distech, or Automated Logic.
  • Strong understanding of HVAC mechanical systems and electrical circuits.
  • Understanding of languages, block programming, line-based programming.
  • Basic networking knowledge.
  • Protocols: BACnet IP/MSTP, Modbus.

Responsibilities

  • Develop custom DDC control logic and create graphical user interfaces (GUI) for operator workstations.
  • Integrate HVAC, lighting, and security systems using protocols such as BACnet and Modbus.
  • Start up, troubleshoot, and fine-tune BAS software and hardware to meet design specifications.
  • Interpret mechanical/electrical schematics, create sequence of operations, and document as-built drawings.
  • Provide technical support to installation technicians and subcontractors, ensuring proper system installation and performance.
