Requirements

  • Prior experience with Software Programming, IT or Networking background, electrician or HVAC Technician experience would offer valuable skill sets to this position.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the construction or service, or HVAC industry.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of control theory, automatic temperature controls, building automation systems and other building subsystems.
  • Demonstrated experience in the integration of low voltage building sub-systems using various industry protocols (i.e., LON, BACnet, etc.).
  • Ability to relate technical knowledge to a non-technical audience.
  • Demonstrated computer skills required, HVAC sequence programming.
  • Strong understanding of IT Infrastructure and Network troubleshooting.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering and/or minimum 1-2 years' experience or associate's degree in HVAC or electrical, 2-4 years' experience.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the service & repair, design, configuration, and operation of complete HVAC building control systems and other low voltage control sub-systems (i.e., lighting, data networks and 3rd party integration etc.) to meet the intent of the customers and JCI goals.
  • Accountable for quality, timeliness and efficiency of service and repairs.
  • Develops complex software programs, commissioning and solving to ensure proper operations of the building control system and HVAC system.
  • Provides detailed information and service reports to communicate problem resolution and operation to customers, Sales and Service team and subcontractors.
  • Designs, configures and services technically complex building control systems for the customers facility.
  • Creates flow diagrams, sequence of operations, bill of material, network layouts and electrical schematics as required.
  • Develops and tests software programs necessary to operate the system per customer requirements.
  • Loading Johnson Controls field and network level controller software.
  • Performing commissioning and system diagnostics for all levels of system controllers as well as end devices (i.e., Sensors, actuators, etc.) and complete all required commissioning documentation.
  • Keeps management and JCI contractor or customer informed of job progress and issues.
  • Calibrates systems requiring basic electronic test equipment.
  • Completes administrative tasks including but not limited to time sheets, expense reports, and on-site documentation.
  • Documents change and provide information for as-built documentation.
  • Execute company sponsored as well as personally initiated training to ensure the highest level of knowledge and capability are maintained.
  • Engage with customers to fully understand their systems and needs.
  • Communicates with the JCI contractor or customer upon arrival and before leaving the work site.
  • Follows all safety standards and attends required safety training.
  • High degree of regard to employee and subcontractor safety.
