We are seeking a Controls SBS Project Manager to serve as the single point of accountability for delivering successful HVAC controls, Smart Buildings, and energy-related projects. This role involves overseeing all phases of assigned projects, from initial scoping to final owner acceptance. You will manage and confirm tasks such as work scoping, estimating, scheduling, site visits, commissioning, performance verification, project closeout, and securing owner approval. You will ensure accurate forecasting, manage budgets, and secure utility incentives for assigned projects. You will direct and collaborate with engineers, system technicians, electricians, administrative assistants, and subcontractors to meet project requirements. Requirements

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of Electrical and mechanical systems
  • In-depth knowledge of Building automation systems and controls
  • In-depth knowledge of Project administration and scheduling
  • In-depth knowledge of Financial forecasting, document control, and crisis management
  • Proficiency with general computer tools and business platforms, including: Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint
  • Proficiency with Procore
  • Proficiency with Scheduling tools such as MS Project and Airtable
  • Highly motivated and driven to succeed.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the single point of accountability for delivering successful HVAC controls, Smart Buildings, and energy-related projects.
  • Oversee all phases of assigned projects, from initial scoping to final owner acceptance.
  • Manage and confirm tasks such as work scoping, estimating, scheduling, site visits, commissioning, performance verification, project closeout, and securing owner approval.
  • Ensure accurate forecasting and manage budgets.
  • Secure utility incentives for assigned projects.
  • Direct and collaborate with engineers, system technicians, electricians, administrative assistants, and subcontractors to meet project requirements.
  • Provide technical support for the sale of building controls, Smart Building Technologies, energy, and commissioning projects.
  • Lead customer meetings, develop riser diagrams, define project scopes, and ensure accurate pricing.
  • Oversee on-site coordination with internal teams, utility companies, general contractors, subcontractors (including SaaS providers), and other trades to guarantee smooth project execution.
  • Review specifications, submittments, and design documents to establish complete project scopes.
  • Minimize costly changes and deliver precise as-built documentation.
  • Ensure hardware design, software programming, and equipment installation meet SBS standards.
  • Troubleshoot issues and validate system functionality to ensure project success.
  • Perform accurate estimating, manage procurement and delivery schedules, and maintain control over project budgets to meet contractual obligations and prevent overruns.
  • Conduct operator training, oversee project closeouts, secure utility incentives, and ensure a smooth handoff to the service and performance management teams for long-term success.
