About The Position

This is a hybrid role based out of Fairfax, VA, combining office work, remote work, and job-site visits 2-3 days a week. The position involves project management for approximately 10 projects once fully ramped up, with an initial workload of 3-5 projects. Project sizes range from $30,000 to $500,000, with a total managed value of around $1 million. The company, established over 35 years ago with 20 years of experience in the field, has about 25 employees and specializes in Script-Based BAS lines and Tridium Niagara Programming. They primarily engage in Plan & Spec work, often invited to bid on projects. Their services include a mix of retrofits, services, and design-build/new construction, with most projects involving installation. Their clientele includes various school districts, government defense work (military bases, U.S. facilities), Class-A commercial buildings, and large residential complexes.

Requirements

• Previous project management or project engineering experience in BAS Controls, Electrical, HVAC Mechanical, or Construction
• Ability to be a chameleon – can adjust to changes and various customer types
• Consideration for a hand-on Controls professional who would like to get into project management

Responsibilities

• Project budgeting and financial/hours forecasting
• Utilizing MS Excel/MS Office for project management tasks
• Checking on projects/customers through job-site visits
• Documentation: Change Orders, RFIs, review/participate with submittal packages from the Project Engineer
• Acting as a liaison between customers and internal team members (Engineering Manager, Service Manager, Install Manager, etc)
• Managing projects within a territory from South Baltimore, MD to Richmond, VA
