About The Position

Requirements

  • Applicants must be 18 years of age or older to be considered for this 3M Production role, in compliance with U.S. labor and safety laws.
  • Possess a High School diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum three (3) years of industrial manufacturing technician experience in a private, public, government or military environment, in leu of experience, a technical or bachelor’s degree in an engineering related field (Mechatronics, Industrial Maintenance/Electronics, Robotics & Automation, etc)
  • Applicants meeting the basic qualifications may be required to take and pass 3M elected testing as a part of the selection process.
  • Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).

Nice To Haves

  • Industrial manufacturing technician experience with associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Industrial Maintenance and/or Automation/Electronics Engineering.
  • Demonstrated ability to work on a fast-paced, deadline driven team, ability to work in a safe manner and follow safety protocols including, but not limited to, Lock Out/Tag Out programs, NFPA 70E Arc-Flash Safety, etc.
  • PLC and automated manufacturing equipment highly recommended.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, troubleshoot, repair, adjust, and maintain AC and DC motors and drive systems, pneumatic, electrical, electronic, instrumentation, and mechanical systems, including equipment ranging from fractional horsepower to hundreds of horsepower.
  • Troubleshoot, maintain, and support control and P.I.D. loops, 4 to 20 milliamp systems, industrial controllers, analog and digital PLCs, sensors, instrumentation, actuators, I/O devices, control panels, wiring, and related electrical and control interfaces.
  • Perform mechanical maintenance, inspection, troubleshooting, and repair on thermal oxidizer systems and related equipment, including combustion, airflow, exhaust, heat recovery, dampers, valves, actuators, and associated mechanical components.
  • Perform minor installation and modification of control and power wiring up to 480 volts AC, ensuring compliance with N.E.C. and OSHA standards and proper procedures for intrinsically safe and explosion proof wiring.
  • Read, interpret, and appropriately update AC and DC elementary drawings, wiring diagrams, P&IDs, equipment manuals, and control system documentation in accordance with established practices.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on controls, instrumentation, thermal oxidizer equipment, and related systems, and support small and medium sized capital, equipment upgrade, controls improvement, and reliability projects.
  • Provide off shift support as needed for planned maintenance activities, equipment outages, startups, shutdowns, and unplanned equipment issues.
  • Responsibilities of this position include that corporate policies, procedures and security standards are complied with while performing assigned duties.
