About The Position

A Controls Engineering Intern is responsible for all phases of engineering for Toyota Automated Logistics. The duties include designing, programming, testing, and commissioning. The Controls Engineering Intern will work closely with the Controls Lead and Controls engineers to support the team in the overall project objectives. The Controls Engineering Intern reports directly to the Controls Engineering Manager.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing Bachelor degree in a engineering discipline.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills
  • Strong Programming skills.
  • High attention to detail and organizational skills
  • PLC experience with a class/course or previous internship
  • Ability to read schematics/electrical prints
  • Demonstrated electrical and mechanical aptitude
  • Strong ability to interact with computers
  • Good communication skills
  • Must be eligible to work in the USA long term without sponsorship.
  • Employees must follow all information security policies, protect confidential data, complete required training, and report any suspected security incidents to support our information security controls.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with other controls engineers to understand the design and coding requirements.
  • Work with engineers on how to create electrical schematics using AutoCAD Electrical.
  • Must have great communication skills. This will be paramount in internal communication as well as discussions with other engineers.
  • Ability to multi-task and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Maintain a consistently positive, enthusiastic attitude!
  • Keep an open mind; be creative with concepts. Encourage entrepreneurial and innovative spirit among others.
  • Anticipate problems and be able to proactively act rather than react.
  • Maintain office area clean and organized.
  • Complete all administrative tasks/paperwork in a timely manner.
  • Works well with engineering and manufacturing teams. Pitches in where needed.
