About The Position

Systems Contractors is seeking an experienced Controls Install Lead to join our growing team in Greensboro, NC. This role is ideal for a hands-on professional who can hit the ground running, lead installation projects, and provide technical expertise in HVAC controls, electrical systems, and field installation work. The Controls Install Lead will oversee the installation, startup, and commissioning of building automation and HVAC control systems while ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. This individual will serve as a field leader, coordinating with project managers, technicians, electricians, and customers to deliver successful projects.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience installing HVAC controls, building automation systems, or related electrical systems.
  • Strong background in HVAC systems and controls.
  • Electrical experience required, including reading electrical schematics and performing field wiring.
  • Proven ability to work independently and lead projects with minimal supervision.
  • Experience with troubleshooting and startup of control systems.
  • Excellent communication, organization, and leadership skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience installing and bending electrical conduit.
  • Experience working with high-voltage electrical systems.
  • Knowledge of building automation systems and control platforms.
  • Previous experience leading field installation teams.
  • OSHA certification or other safety training is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the installation of HVAC control systems, building automation systems (BAS), and related electrical components.
  • Read and interpret wiring diagrams, control drawings, blueprints, and project specifications.
  • Install control panels, sensors, actuators, and associated equipment.
  • Perform electrical wiring for low-voltage and control systems.
  • Route and install conduit and electrical raceways as required.
  • Assist with startup, commissioning, testing, and troubleshooting of HVAC control systems.
  • Coordinate daily activities with project managers, subcontractors, and field personnel.
  • Ensure installations meet company quality standards and applicable electrical and safety codes.
  • Train and mentor junior installers and technicians.
  • Identify and resolve field issues quickly to keep projects on schedule.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation and communicate progress to internal teams and customers.
