BAS - Controls Estimator
About The Position
This company blends Building Automation service offerings with Energy Engineering-Analytics services. The position of Estimator-BAS Controls is responsible for estimating small and large projects within the Building Automation System (BAS) domain. The role involves assisting the Sales Team in system configuration and project layout understanding, collaborating with the Engineering team during estimate handoffs, and executing project take-offs to develop a Bill of Materials (BOM). Estimates are calculated based on the cost of materials, subcontractors, purchased equipment, labor, and other associated activities. The Estimator will create detailed cost estimates from HVAC & DDC system sketches, actively participate in submittals and RFIs, and review project plans, as well as attend pre-bid meetings.
Requirements
- Prior experience estimating various BAS Controls jobs (small or large)
- Familiarity with various controls devices and prices
- Interest in where Energy Engineering/Analytics meets Building Automation Implementation
Responsibilities
- Assist Sales Team in configuring systems and understanding project layout
- Work alongside Engineering team when handing off the estimate
- Provide proposals/bid estimates based on project scope from large to small Building Automation System projects
- Execute Project Take-Offs
- Develop Bill of Materials (BOM)
- Create detailed cost estimates from HVAC & DDC system sketches
- Actively participate on submittals and RFIs
- Review project plans
- Attend pre-bid meetings
