About The Position

ZipStaff is seeking a Controls Engineer to design, develop, install, and maintain equipment used to monitor and control complex engineering systems and processes for a leading manufacturer of construction and mining equipment. The role is within the autonomy validation and technology development group, with a focus on test planning, execution, and troubleshooting complex autonomous systems. The position is remote while supporting the Yucca, Arizona area. The contract assignment runs from November 16, 2026 through November 15, 2028. Employment is W2 through ZipStaff; C2C and 1099 arrangements are not accepted.

Requirements

2–4 years of experience in controls engineering, electrical design, or automated systems.
Strong working knowledge of electrical requirements, robotic safety standards, and motor controls.
Experience testing, evaluating, and calibrating hardware and control products.
A self-directed, quality-focused approach and strong technical problem-solving skills.
Ability to work remotely supporting the Yucca, Arizona area.

Nice To Haves

Autonomy validation experience or a background in autonomous engineering systems.
Hands-on experience with advanced data analysis tools for complex troubleshooting.
Strong communication skills for cross-functional collaboration with support and product teams.
