About The Position

General Mills, Inc. is seeking a Controls Electrician for its Flour Mill in Buffalo, NY. This role is responsible for supporting, creating, integrating, troubleshooting, and improving various processing/packaging control systems, including Wonderware and PLC. The plant operates 24/7, and the position involves shift rotations, with the ability to work overtime, any shift, including weekends and holidays. Requirements

Minimum of a high school diploma or GED.
3-5 years (minimum) of industrial electrical maintenance experience, including machine repair and troubleshooting.
Must be recognized a Controls Technician by General Mills Buffalo Standards.
Electronic knowledge with 480v industrial wiring and troubleshooting experience.
PLC programming, troubleshooting and instrumentation.
Experience with AB PLC platforms; Servo Control Systems; Robotic Controls Systems.
HMI experience, Wonderware or Rockwell Panelview preferred.
Experience in a manufacturing/production environment preferred.
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
Must be able to perform physical tasks for extended periods of time including standing, walking, climbing, bending, pushing, pulling and twisting over surfaces.
Ability to climb and/or work at heights while utilizing stairs, ladders, personnel lifts, or platforms.
Ability to wear protective clothing and equipment such as safety shoes, face masks, safety glasses, hearing protection, a hard hat, a hair/beard net and gloves when required.
Willing and able to adhere to all grooming requirements necessary for a food manufacturing environment.
Ability to work in hot, cold, noisy, dusty, wet environmental working conditions.
Willing to work around industrial high-speed moving machinery.
Ability to work with allergens that might be present in a food environment.

Responsibilities

Supporting, creating, integration, troubleshooting and improving a variety of processing/packaging controls systems including Wonderware, and PLC.
Reading and updating electrical and control schematics, piping and instrumentation diagrams.
Providing technical support/skills for equipment troubleshooting and controls/equipment modifications.
Design and layout circuits, install fixtures, wiring conduits, motors, and other electrical equipment/components.
Performing both uptime and downtime preventative electrical maintenance.
Participate in Continuous Improvement initiatives to increase platform performance.
Assist in training new employees.
