About The Position

DDC Controls Electrician supports the installation, commissioning, maintenance, troubleshooting, and modernization of building automation systems. Responsibilities include performing electrical and electronic system installations; conducting functional testing, diagnostics, and system verification; and ensuring the accurate installation of conduit, wiring, and cabling in compliance with applicable codes, standards, and project specifications. Maintain detailed service records, technical documentation, and reporting throughout all phases of project execution. This role also delivers on-site customer training and technical support to ensure successful system operation and client satisfaction. Electrical Installers are essential to deliver safe, reliable, and high-performing electrical infrastructure that supports operational excellence, safety, and business continuity.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 3 – 5 years’ experience installing low voltage controls systems preferred
  • Demonstrated educational or on-the-job experience installing conduit and running pipe
  • Demonstrated educational or on-the-job understanding of electrical codes, requirements, and efficient installation methods and practices
  • Ability to read and interpret basic electrical drawings and schematics
  • Physical ability to lift and carry heavy equipment, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
  • Good communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team

Responsibilities

  • Install conduit, wire, cable, and devices including panels, sensors, and components for a range of systems, ensuring their proper integration
  • Perform preventive maintenance and routine inspections
  • Perform wiring check-out and assist with system start-up. Disconnect and dismantle electric/electronic instruments, panels, sensors, etc. Troubleshoot wiring issues
  • Coordinate with operations for the timely delivery of materials and supplies to the job site
  • May be required to assist with electrical estimates
  • Adhere to company and OSHA safety policies/procedures
  • Work in a variety of environments in and around mechanical equipment, including climbing ladders, scaffolding, and high-lift equipment, working above ceilings, and in different weather conditions; use hand tools, laptop, email, smartphone, and tablet
