About The Position

The Controls Design Engineer will be responsible for creating, designing, and managing Building Automation Systems (BAS) and their architecture. This role involves developing sequences of operations, performing site visits for job walks, and leading the development of detailed automation designs for submittals. The engineer will ensure timely and efficient delivery of controls designs and support lead engineers, with a willingness to learn specific BAS programming. The company, founded over 25 years ago, serves a diverse clientele including Critical Systems/Data Centers, Pharmaceuticals Facilities, Industrial Sites, Hospitality and Entertainment Venues, Healthcare Buildings and Campuses, Education Facilities, and Commercial Office Buildings and Campuses. They handle a mix of Retrofit, Service, and Design-build/New Construction projects, offering services in HVAC, Controls, Lighting, Security, Access Control, Video Surveillance, Electrical Monitoring, and other building sub-systems.

Requirements

Prior experience as an Applications or Controls Design Engineer
Experience with MS Visio or AutoCAD
Knowledge and Understanding of BAS Operations

Experience with BAS systems
Experience with Security, Access Control, Video Surveillance, Electrical Monitoring, and other building sub systems

Responsibilities

Create, design, and manage BAS systems and architecture using MS Visio or AutoCAD
Develop Sequence of Operations for each project
Visit customer sites to perform job walks
Lead and develop detailed automation designs and prepare them for submittals
Ensure controls designs for the project are delivered on time and efficiently
Help and support lead engineers
Willingness to learn how to program in specific BAS lines
