About The Position

This role applies foundational technical knowledge to support the design, implementation, and optimization of automation and packaging systems. It completes defined engineering tasks under the guidance of more senior technical staff, focusing on accurate execution of control, hardware, and documentation work. It participates in equipment installation, testing, and startup to help ensure systems operate as intended. It contributes to continuous improvement by documenting observations and proposing straightforward improvements within its area.

Responsibilities

  • Support Design and Implementation of Automation Controls and Packaging Systems: Assists with tasks such as drafting basic schematics, configuring devices, and implementing small code changes under supervision. Applies standard procedures and templates to ensure work is accurate, consistent, and safe. Escalates questions or anomalies promptly so that senior engineers can provide direction.
  • Assist with Equipment Installation, Testing, and Commissioning: Participates in field activities such as device checks, wiring verification, and simple functional tests. Records measurements, test results, and issues in formats defined by the project team. Supports troubleshooting during startup by gathering data and implementing directed changes.
  • Interpret and Maintain Basic Schematics and Documentation: Uses existing drawings and documentation to understand how system components connect and operate. Updates labels, device lists, and simple diagrams when changes are made, following team revision-control practices. Helps keep documentation organized so information is easy to locate during troubleshooting and audits.
  • Perform Foundational Troubleshooting Activities: Follows structured troubleshooting steps to gather information about alarms, faults, and abnormal system behavior. Checks basic items such as sensor alignment, wiring continuity, and device status indicators before escalating issues. Documents findings clearly so more senior staff can make informed decisions on next actions.
  • Collaborate with Engineers, Operations, and Maintenance: Participates in team meetings, walkthroughs, and shift handovers to stay aligned on priorities and tasks. Communicates status, risks, and support needs in a concise, fact-based manner. Incorporates feedback from operators and maintainers into its work to improve system usability and maintainability.
