The Controls Analyst II serves as a technical resource supporting Energy-as-a-Service (EaaS) projects, primarily focused on HVAC system optimization, operational performance, and verification of energy savings. Projects are typically complex, multi-building and multi-campus portfolios in higher education and healthcare environments, with substantial mechanical infrastructure and advanced integrated control strategies. The role works closely with engineering and commissioning teams to evaluate building automation system (BAS) architecture, troubleshoot system performance, and deploy advanced HVAC sequences of operation across air and hydronic systems. Work includes site assessments, trend-data analysis, developing and modifying direct digital control (DDC) logic, validating sequence implementation, and supporting functional testing and ongoing optimization. The position requires advanced knowledge of HVAC systems, BAS platforms, networked controls, and energy conservation measures, particularly as applied to high-performance building operations. The analyst translates engineering intent into effective control logic, leads complex troubleshooting, and implements programming approaches that support scalable and repeatable energy savings. The role also requires analytical and problem-solving ability, experience with retro-commissioning and HVAC optimization, and collaboration across multidisciplinary project teams to improve operational performance.
