About The Position

The Financial Controller Undertakes all aspects of financial management, including corporate accounting, regulatory reporting, and budget/forecast preparation. Responsible for developing internal control policies, managing financial risk, and ensuring the long-term financial stability of the organization.

Requirements

  • Proven working experience as a Financial controller
  • 10+ years of overall combined accounting and finance experience
  • 5+ years’ experience in a supervisory/management role
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting; Masters preferred
  • CPA or CMA a plus
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
  • Experience with creating financial statements
  • Experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year end close process
  • Excellent accounting software user and administration skills
  • Experience with QuickBooks Online preferred

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all accounting operations, including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, Cost Accounting, and Revenue Recognition.
  • Provide comprehensive financial analysis and updates to executive management regarding annual budgets and operating results.
  • Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts and report variances.
  • Ensure quality control over financial transactions and maintain compliance with local, state, and federal reporting and tax requirements.
  • Calculate and issue key financial and operational metrics to drive business decisions.
  • Coordinate the preparation of regulatory reporting.
  • Research technical accounting issues and coordinate with executive leadership on financial aspects of M&A considerations.
  • Oversee and execute final month-end and year-end close process.
  • Provide financial analysis, as needed, for capital investments, pricing decisions, and contract terms.
  • Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting.
  • Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
  • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.
  • Manage and maintain accounting records in accordance with document retention policies.
  • Additional duties as necessary.
