About The Position

They use their expertise in content marketing and sales enablement, in addition to their suite of capabilities and over two dozen proprietary websites to empower their clients to effectively connect their thought leadership, products, and solutions with actively engaged readers. We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Controller to lead our accounting function and ensure the integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of financial reporting while improving processes and supporting strategic decision-making.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • CPA preferred
  • 10–15 years' experience; 5+ years as Controller
  • Strong GAAP knowledge and team leadership experience

Nice To Haves

  • Public accounting experience (Big 4 or regional firm)
  • Experience in private equity-backed or high-growth environment
  • ERP implementation or optimization experience (NetSuite, SAP, Oracle)
  • Industry experience aligned with life sciences, media, or B2B services preferred

Responsibilities

  • Own GAAP financial statements and reporting
  • Lead month-end and year-end close process
  • Oversee accounting operations (GL, AP/AR, payroll, revenue recognition)
  • Manage audits and ensure compliance
  • Monthly Bank Reconciliations
  • Weekly Cash Balance Report
  • Tie daily cash reports to SF
  • Reconcile Petty Cash
  • Lead and develop accounting team
  • Seamlessly integrate acquisition targets
  • Drive automation and ERP improvements
  • Support leadership with insights, budgeting, and forecasting
