Requirements

• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2+ years in a Controller or Assistant Controller role
• Prior experience in a venture-backed startup or high-growth environment
• Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP, revenue recognition (ASC 606), and compliance frameworks
• Experience managing audits and working with external accounting firms
• Proficiency with accounting and ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, QuickBooks, Ramp, Bill.com)
• CPA certification strongly preferred
• Background in SaaS, fintech, or technology sectors is a plus

Responsibilities

• Oversee all aspects of accounting operations, including GL, AR/AP, payroll, and revenue recognition
• Manage month-end and year-end close processes to ensure accuracy and timeliness
• Lead external audits and coordinate with external tax and audit partners
• Implement and optimize financial systems, processes, and internal controls
• Partner with FP&A, Legal, and Operations to align financial data with company goals
• Prepare GAAP-compliant financial statements and board reporting packages
• Support budgeting, forecasting, and scenario planning in collaboration with finance leadership
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulatory requirements
• Build, mentor, and manage small accounting teams as the company scales
