About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Controller to lead all accounting and finance operations for a manufacturing facility. This is a key leadership role responsible for overseeing financial reporting, cost accounting, budgeting, internal controls, compliance, and strategic financial planning while partnering closely with senior leadership to support continued business growth.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.
  • 7+ years of progressive accounting experience.
  • Strong background in General Accounting and Cost Accounting.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines.
  • Strong leadership, decision-making, and problem-solving abilities.
  • High level of professionalism and ability to handle confidential information.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA).
  • 5+ years of Controller experience.
  • Manufacturing or chemical industry experience.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all accounting and finance operations, including general accounting, cost accounting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, payroll, tax, inventory, and month-end close.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain accounting policies, procedures, and internal controls to ensure financial accuracy and minimize risk.
  • Prepare and present weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, forecasts, and cash flow reports.
  • Coordinate internal and external audits and ensure timely completion of all financial reporting requirements.
  • Review journal entries, account reconciliations, inventory transactions, payroll, and financial records for accuracy.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and company financial policies.
  • Assist with customer contracts, billing compliance, and Master Service Agreements (MSAs).
  • Develop annual operating budgets and monitor financial performance against established goals.
  • Oversee capital expenditures and ensure accurate financial reporting for projects.
  • Analyze financial performance, identify trends, and recommend improvements.
  • Lead, coach, mentor, and develop the accounting team while managing daily departmental operations.
  • Establish departmental goals, monitor performance metrics, and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Collaborate with operations and executive leadership to support business growth and strategic initiatives.
  • Promote a culture of safety and compliance with Health, Safety & Environmental policies.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
