About The Position

As a Cost Controller, you will play a key role in supporting project cost management activities, ensuring accurate reporting, forecasting, and performance monitoring across the project portfolio.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of project controls, cost control, or construction project experience.
  • College diploma or University degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, Finance, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Solid understanding of project controls and cost management principles.
  • Experience supporting project forecasting, cost reporting, and variance analysis.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced project environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, lookups, and reporting functions.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders at all levels.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to data accuracy and continuous improvement.
  • Willingness to travel to project sites as required.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with project management, ERP, or cost management systems (e.g., InEight, Hard Dollar, SAP, Primavera) is considered an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Organize and attend project controls and cost review meetings.
  • Track and follow up on action items with project stakeholders and functional leads.
  • Maintain project cost data, commitments, accruals, and forecasts.
  • Assist in the preparation and maintenance of Cost Breakdown Structures (CBS).
  • Support project progress measurement and update earned value metrics.
  • Assist with the preparation of Applications for Payment and supporting documentation.
  • Coordinate with Risk, Planning, Finance, IDD/BIM, Supply Chain, and Project Controls teams to validate project cost information.
  • Analyze project costs and identify variances between budget, forecast, and actual expenditures.
  • Support monthly cost reporting and contribute to project performance dashboards.
  • Assist in maintaining cost control procedures, templates, and reporting tool.
  • Support contract administration, subcontractor payment tracking, and change management processes.
  • Prepare Project Controls meeting minutes and maintain project documentation.
  • Assist cost control, scheduling, finance, project accounting, and supply chain functions as required.
  • Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned.
