The Controller will manage the preparation and review of financial reporting, reconciliation, and analysis. This includes profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and key performance statistics. The role involves providing timely financial statement analysis, interpreting data, developing management reports, and conducting ad-hoc analysis for the Executive Management Team. The Controller will evaluate and present financial performance monthly against prior results, budget, and forecast, assisting with variance investigations. Additionally, the position manages tax reporting schedules, business compliance filings, and ensures all financial information is reported accurately in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. The Controller will research and review accounting issues, oversee the accounting team (Accounts Payable & Accounts Receivable), and train/mentor staff. Key responsibilities include creating, implementing, and measuring department objectives, policies, and procedures. The role also involves reviewing, developing, and implementing accounting workflow and system processes to improve efficiency, maintain internal controls, and integrate new initiatives. The Controller will evaluate and develop cost reduction and performance enhancement strategies, manage business reporting tools for month-end closing, and oversee the reporting, monitoring, and calculation of performance bonus programs and other payroll-related items. Collaboration with other department managers is essential to support company goals. The Controller will serve as a liaison with audit agencies, manage audit requests and tax work papers, and handle special projects as needed, providing backup support for all accounting duties.
