About The Position

This role requires minimal supervision and reports to the Administrator/CEO. The Controller will be responsible for managing the profitability of a medical practice, performing quantitative and analytical duties, and handling multiple projects simultaneously. The position involves working in an office environment with occasional evening work. The ideal candidate will have strong communication and interpersonal skills, along with the ability to exercise initiative, problem-solving, and decision-making.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Advanced degree (MBA,MHA,MD,JD) or certification (CPA,CMA,CMPE) required.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively in a very professional and courteous manner.
  • Must have strong interpersonal skills.
  • Word processing/administrative skills, including written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to exercise initiative, problem-solving, and decision making.
  • Must perform all job duties in an accurate, professional and expedient manner.
  • Experience managing maximizing the profitability of a medical practice.
  • Comfortable performing quantitative and analytical duties.
  • Ability to handle many projects at one time.

Responsibilities

  • Reviews monthly productivity reports and monitors productivity, revenue, and overhead for each physician.
  • Oversees administration of physician compensation formula.
  • Maintains solid relationships with outside financial advisors – i.e., accounting firm and bank.
  • Maintains and oversees a system of internal financial controls.
  • Directs and oversees the facilitation of accounts payable, and generation of internal financial statements monthly.
  • Directs the development of a financial chart of accounts, and oversees its implementation of use.
  • Reviews profitability of all cost centers monthly.
  • Analyzes and presents financial analyses to the Board.
  • Facilitates physician-requested financial analyses.
  • Oversees performance of billing, receivables, and collection functions – and the basic operational systems of each.
  • Oversees retirement plan administration.
  • Develop the annual budget and monitor the monthly financial results to ensure budget is adhered to.
  • Oversees all functions and operations of the Business Office.
  • Completes all annual reviews of Business Office staff.
  • Administrative support to physicians as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
